Monk

"Its a jungle out there."
This hilarious detective show simply puts a light in your day. Monk is about a complete germaphobe who specializes in solving crime. You'll find yourself both laughing at and sympathizing with this deranged character. It's fun and great way to work your mind to try and solve the case. The episodes range from rated PG to PG-13 for violence and minor language. A good time for ages 13 and up.

Gremlins

"Don't get him wet, keep him out of bright light, and never feed him after midnight."
This movie is definitely a fun one. Directed by Steven Spielberg  he somehow combines both horror and comedy into one unlikely double. You'll find your self occasionally laughing and cringing over and over as gremlins take over the screen. A fun movie to watch with an more grown of kind of family. Rated PG in 1984 by film critics I disagree with this rating though and would rate it PG-13 for its excessive language an lots of humorous violence. A perfect laughable Christmas movie, though I recommend that you do not watch it on Christmas or it will ruin the holiday for you. I recommend this  movie for kids 13 and up.

Heroes of the Valley

Author: Jonathan Stroud
This book definitely goes down on my list as one of my favorite novels. Stroud combines his favorite characters of mystery, folklore and sarcasm. His books often include mostly powerless characters but with big hearts and longing to do great acts of courage. He knows how to frustrate a reader though let me tell you. And with his books you can always expect lots of laughs and some pretty strange twists. Stroud definitely over exceeds in his usual ways of writing fantastic novels. A bit of battle gore at the beginning and some strange ways of speaking sometimes but you'll still understand and will find your  self having a great time. I recommend this book highly and would rate it at a PG-13 for occasional violence and little use of language. Appropriate for ages 12 and up.
